The Off-Road Adventure Tour has attracted the attention of TV stations such as Channel 7 news in Boston and WCVB Channel 5 in Boston. Buckle Up and Hold On, as the license plates dictate because you’re in for an off-road thrill like no other in New England. Scale to the top of Barron Mountain for beautiful views in this low-speed roller coaster ride. With every season you encounter a different tour: Summer is great weather and an open-air convertible top. Fall is spectacular foliage seen from above with occasional moose, deer & turkeys along the trail. Winter displays the extreme off-road capabilities of these 6-wheel drive Swiss army transport vehicles called Pinzgauers. Spring is mud season (do we have to say more). Our Pinzgauers have modified seating to accommodate 11 guests in bucket seats with lap belts. We padded the overhead cages. On nice days we’ll take the top off to enjoy the ride. Our driver will entertain you on your journey. This tour is approximately 1-1.5 hours and close toe shoes are required.

All guests should be in relatively good physical condition. As the name “off-road” implies, we will be traveling on back roads and trails, up and over Baron Mountain. Although the tour is low speed, it can be bumpy and jarring in places. Three years old is an absolute minimum and parents need to consider their individual child when deciding to participate. You may need to Hold On and definitely Buckle Up, as the license plates dictate.
The step up into and out of the Pinzgauers is much higher than a typical vehicle, similar to climbing into the bed of a low pickup truck. Most of our Pinzgauers will have a step stool, but you should be able to do this unassisted. There is a weight limit of 300lbs.
Dress for the weather. The canvas sides are down on the Pinzgauers as the weather gets cooler. It is fairly warm inside them throughout the year, but you may want to get out and take pictures or walk onto Treewalk Village. Close toe shoes are required.
Go ahead and bring snacks and drinks, but it’s a bumpy ride…
